Antonio Mazzitelli

From 2001 onwards, Antonio managed the netlabel "out of obscure", where he also released his own music. Together with his friends, they released over 150 tracks in various genres of electronic music. From techno to minimal, electro, breaks and house, everything got featured. Antonio played his music as part of a few selected livesets at venues such as Rohstofflager, Rote Fabrik, Reitschule, TabTap and others. As a vinyl lover, he also played DJ sets at various swiss clubs and events. Through his work as a DJ, he met his netlabel partners "turntable actor chloroform" and "beija", who ran a small but fine vinyl record store. A programmer by heart, he enjoys writing and using software to make music with. If it has knobs and lights outside, and bits and bytes inside, he'll most likely love it.

Since 1990 "turntable actor chloroform" mixes acoustic signals that are stored on a groove that spirally converges to the center of a disk of polyvinyl chloride, creates worlds of sounds and produces electronic music. In 1991 already, he spinned the turntables for the first time in public. Fascinated by house, acid, italodisco, techno and everything that "rocked", he actively started to be interested in this kind of music. His preference for acid was omnipresent from the beginning. Hence the use of a TB 303 to galvanize the audience. In time the speed was gradually reduced and more progressive sounds came out of the loudspeakers. The opening of an own record shop was an additional means to spread the electronically created music and its culture and scene among the people. "turntable actor chloroform" lived the musical development of techno and maintained in all these years his fascination for it. electro, techno, breakbeat, bigbeat, booties, d`n`b, dubstep, easy listening... the test tube today fills with everything the heart longs for.

Past

Between 2001 and 2008 the netlabel „out of obscure“ was an online platform for electronic music that distributed techno, breakbeat, electro and house tracks. Since 2005 the label had an astonishing download frequency with over 140’000 downloads every year. Innumerous positive feedbacks to the songs made the success perfect.

Present

In 2011, „out of obscure“ is back again after a two-year break with a new appearance and new content. Relaunched as a record label, we continue releasing electronic music of various genres and styles. We hope you enjoy our new label and its music!
